Felix is a Video Editor and Cinematographer based in Washington, D.C.

Background

Felix grew up in the Washington, D.C. area before moving to Edinburgh, Scotland. After discovering Photography by chance through event promotions, he earned his B.F.A in Photography & Filmmaking from V.C.U. Arts in Richmond, Virgnia. While studying, Felix focused on bringing excitement and dynamism to universal and overlooked subjects. Alongside event coverage and music videos, Felix produced a documentary featuring a local non-profit that earned honorable mentions and as well as prizes and donations for the organization in question.

Growth

Felix cut his teeth in the industry working for network TV productions as a PA in the DC area before going on to become an Assistant Camera and Camera operator.

As he progressed, Felix focused on two industries with strong roots in the DC area: Sports and News. He travelled the east coast frequently shooting Automotive events before settling back in DC to work as a Camera Operator and Broadcast Tech for various production partners of BBC News, NBC Sports Washington, and ESPN+.

In 2021, Felix joined Yorktel full time as Studio Tech II, a hybrid Camera Op/Editor role.

Today

At Yorktel, Felix’s role combines live studio productions with various animation techniques to produce instructional content for clients. The position has granted him extreme autonomy in a world-class broadcast production studio, as well as exposure to various animation and instructional design techniques.

In parallel, Felix continues to produce documentary video and photography projects for friends, clients, and worthwhile causes.
